Miss Katie is an internationally recognized  artist who happens to have Down syndrome.  She grew up in Lake Ridge, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, DC and moved to Florida with her family in 2004.  She used fashion design books to teach herself how to draw posing models.  She traced illustrations from her  "Fashion Sketchbook"  repeatedly until she was ready to draw free-hand sketches.  She practiced for several years before discovering her own technique.  Miss Katie's medium is professional artist markers and acrylics.

At birth Miss Katie's doctors requested life support be removed.  They believed she would only live for 36 hours and if she did manage to survive, she would be a vegetable.  Today, she is the proud owner of her own business, Miss Katie’s Kreations.

Miss Katie’s interest in fashion and fashion design blossomed in 2006 after watching the movie "The Devil Wears Prada."  It is her dream to be a fashion designer, sew her designs and see her ladies come to life in a fashion show. She hopes to go to Paris for "Fashion Week."
